Types of Funeral

A funeral is something each of us will absolutely have once in our lifetime, whether in the near future or in a long time after. That is why it is important for us to decide which type of funeral we want to choose for our own funeral.
When planning your own funeral, it is better to choose the one in accordance with your own preferences for a perfect funeral and budget to meet all of your needs. It is another different case if the arrangements of the funeral are for someone else. When it comes to funerals, you need to know that they can be divided into three types and each of the types ranges significantly in how much it costs. More details about them will be explained by us from the Funerals Melbourne in the following:

– Direct cremation
It is a kind of funeral in which the body of the deceased is not embalmed as it will not be put out for the process usually called as viewing. The body will be cremated shortly after the deceased has died. After that, his or her ashes will be transferred in an urn, with the option of a memorial service at a pre-planned location which is usually a place outside a cemetery.

– Direct burial funeral
This type of funeral also skips the visitation or viewing process. Thus, generally, there will also not be any embalming since the body will not be shown before the burial. The body of the deceased will be laid to rest in a simple coffin or casket before being buried.

– Traditional funeral or full-service funeral
Different from the other two types, funerals in this type usually involve a visitation or viewing process. Other than that, this is actually the most expensive plan as it has more requirements to fulfill. A formal funeral service usually requires renting a hearse as well as having an officiate for the ceremony. It also needs the burial, entombment, or cremation process for the body.
